A Closer Look At Preservation

INSPECTION

Before we start, your helmet is inspected thoroughly to see if any major components are susceptible to damage during the preservation process, and we'll bring it to your attention.

If particular parts need to be replaced, we'll make suggestions before taking the helmet any further.

CLEANING

Most preservation helmets have some amount of dust, grime, or carcinogens leftover to be cleaned off, but that doesn't mean the helmet looses the value it's being preserved for.

We carefully handle the helmet with mild soap + water, compressed air, and (or) a soft bristled brush before it's coated, or before any parts are replaced if needed.

TOP COATING

After the helmet is cleaned, it's ready to be sealed with a protective clear coat that is sprayed on to ensure it's evenly applied.

All soft goods like the liner and chinstrap are removed, and are put back once the coating has fully cured. The helmet is now better protected against the elements and other natural substances.
